Going back to College after a summer of internships and vacations can be overwhelming, but with our back to school gear you can start to get excited about football season, recruitment and every day school attire.
Don’t be fooled by this men’s college game day look, although there is a burnt orange theme we offer a variety of school colors in each style. The Peter Millar Men’s Oxford Button-Down is a subtle way to show off your school pride. It is paired with the Jack Mason Tailgate Belt and State Traditions short. Grab a pair of collegiate croakies to complete this look, but don’t be caught at the tailgate without your Yeti rambler to keep your drinks cool and some Ray-Ban shades to watch the game through polarized lenses.
The SMU & TCU rivalry in the Dallas/Fort Worth area has been a long standing one, and this year both sides will have the most stylish fans in Peter Millar. Peter Millar’s collegiate collection is top of the line and a must for any college student during football season. The Peter Millar Button-Down paired with the performance short and on colder days you can add the the performance ¼ zip, which will help you represent your team on the boulevard. The Smathers and Branson belt and key fob will allow you to show your school pride all year long. For the upper classmen, the original whiskey ball will keep your drink cool without watering it down. Finally the Jack Mason font pocket wallet is both practical and fashionable with the logo money clip doubling as a bottle opener.
The classic white dress, like this Amanda Uprichard backless dress and a pair of cowboy boots are a staple in any southern girl’s football game day look just accessorize with your school colors’. For the Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M girls these Ray-Ban red flash lens glasses with the red Will Leather Goods wristlet are the perfect way to give your outfit some more color. You can also opt for a light colored shirt in the hotter months, such as this Joie sleeveless top, paired with this funky BB Dakota skirt that features a sewn tribal pattern and leather trim.
Another integral part of a southern girl’s college experience besides football season is sorority recruitment. This week is all about confidence and putting your best foot forward. We want to give you some advice for each day, and help style your looks.
Day One: Also known as “Go Greek Day” this day is usually split up into two days depending on how many houses there are at your school. You will have the opportunity to talk to someone from every single house. This is the most casual day so wear shorts, such as these Lilly Pulitzer shorts or Bells Dahl chambray shorts. The key is to make sure your shorts aren’t too tight or too short, so you’re confident and comfortable all day. Pair them with a neutral shoe, like these Ipanema sandals. You will be given a shirt that every girl going through recruitment will wear so you don’t want to clash.
Day Two: Also known as “Philanthropy Day” this day you will be going to some, but not all of the houses. Each one will be talking about how their house specifically helps the local community and the nation through their charity partners. This day is still pretty casual and a simple sundress, like this Bella Dahl tie-dye dress paired with these Seychelles flats will be perfect. It is also important that your dresses aren’t too short or low cut. This dress has a nice scooped neck-line that is very appropriate. Paired with a fashionable water pearl necklace and simple arrow stud earrings will make sure that you are the focus, not your outfit.
Day Three: Also known as “Skit Day” this day is when each sorority really gets to show off their personality to the potential new members. You should show off your personality through your personal style this day too! This Julie Brown dress has a very flattering shape that will make you feel confident, while these Vince leather printed shoes will give you and edge and might even be a conversation topic. Pair it with a black Mare Sole Amore tassel necklace to tie it all together.
Day Four: also known as “Pref Night” this is the final day of recruitment. You will only be going to 3 houses at the most and you’ll be walking less. This makes these Vince heels are a great option. You will still be dressed up enough in a chunky heel, but will also have the comfort and support of a bootie. Pair with a cocktail dress, such as this Alice + Trixie silk dress and a simple Gorjana Gold necklace. This is your last chance to make a final impression before the final voting begins so going into each house feeling confident about your outfit will calm the nerves.
Finally make sure that you bring a pen, Swell water bottle that will keep your water cold for 24 hours, snacks and a Lilly Pulitzer notebook to write in after visiting each house. There are so many people that you meet and by pref night you’ll be happy that your thoughts about the houses you have left from each day written down. For the days you’re wearing heels an extra pair of Havaiana flip flops to wear in between houses (your feet will thank you). The Pinch Provisions Minimergency kit, is the best thing to have on you because it has everything from safety pins to deodorant wipes and hairspray. The Stephanie Johnson makeup bag will allow you to keep all your make-up, mints, and more in one place instead of digging around in your Joie Reversible tote.
This look is for the sporty girl that’s headed to class. Be prepared for all kinds of weather by sticking our Senz Smart umbrella and S’well Water Bottle in your North face backpack . Feel comfortable walking from class to class in our Beyond Yoga leggings and moisture wicking Under Armour top. This look can take you straight from class to the gym in style with your color coordinating New Balance running shoes.
This look is for the girl that wants to look more dressed up on campus. This simple AG skinny jean and draped DBA top paired with the comfortable Birkenstocks will give you a style that can transition from morning coffee with friends to class. This Jansport backpack has a tribal print that is neutral enough to pair with most outfits, but will stand out in a crowd. Pair it with simple jewelry like the Sonya Renee Texas Studs and Mare Sole Amore tassel necklace. Finally this O-venture key ring is actually perfect for the college student because you can easily identify which keys are yours.
